With the flagship G2 handset, LG are aiming to grab some of the market currently dominated by the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. The G2 boasts a powerful quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera and, rather unusally, buttons on the rear of the phone.
What the critics say (scores are out of 100)
AndroidPit | Kris Carlon With the G2, LG has managed for the first time to really inspire me with an LG smartphone. The G2 is an excellent smartphone. Read full review |

Digital Versus | Florence Legrand The LG G2 is a super-powerful smartphone with a stunning display. It's perfect for multimedia (games, movies, photos, Internet) and has remarkable battery life. Yet another display of genius from LG! Read full review |

Trusted Reviews With that massive screen and super-fast quad core CPU, the G2 leaves practically every other Android phone in its wake. Read full review |
Expert Reviews | Chris Finnamore A beautiful screen and great camera and battery life make the G2 a phone to be reckoned with - we just wish it had expandable storage Read full review |
Pocket-lint | Ian Morris The G2 is easily a competitor for every other high-end smartphone out there. The "weird" button layout works for us, and it's paired with some smart touch functions that are well thought out. The phone looks and feels great, and just works as a smartphone should. Stuff | Esat Dedezade The LG G2 tops our list of the best smartphones in the world right now. Read full review |
phoneArena | Ray S The LG G2 is an outstanding smartphone almost every way you look at it. Read full review |
The Mobile Indian | Sandeep Budki After a long time we are seeing a phone that shows off decent innovations which are high on the utility front. LG has done some great work on the design by introducing the Lock/Volume key at the back. Its display is quite good and even the camera will not disappoint you. Read full review |
TechnoBuffalo | Roy Choi The G2 finally gives LG a device that can compete with the best, and is worthy of top billing. It's one of the fastest phones on the market and has a battery that will outlast your busiest days. Read full review |
SlashGear | Chris Burns The LG G2 represents the best LG has to offer, including an innovative new way of thinking about the smartphone as a display at it's core - everything else is pushed back both figuratively and literally. Read full review |
Digital Trends | Jeffrey Van Camp With the G2, LG is stepping up to the plate. This is a powerful phone with a myriad of simple, but useful new features. Audiophiles and spec junkies should flock to it, and will be available on every major carrier. Read full review |
ITProPortal | Sandra Vogel The inability to add extra storage is a real downer, and a very unfortunate decision by LG. I'm not a fan of the slightly budget feel of the G2's backplate either - a more premium finish might have done better in the style wars. Read full review |
PC Advisor | Chris Martin LG has trumped the competition with the G2. The phone offers a combination of value for money with high-end features which we haven't seen from rival flagship devices. A great specification combined with impressive design and handy software features mean there's very little to dislike about this handset - only really the lack of a microSD card slot. |
Mobile Choice The beautiful screen and excellent easy-to-use camera make it a great all-rounder, with only the plasticky design and lack of expandable storage detracting from an incredible package. Read full review |
Engadget | Mat Smith A combination of high-level specifications and great battery life make the G2 one of the best flagship Android phones out there. However, those rear-facing buttons won't be for everyone. Read full review |
Wired UK | Katie Collins The G2 sports more screen than its main Android rivals, and yet remains sleek and light, steering well clear of phablet territory. Read full review |
TechRadar | Marc Flores The only thing that would've made this phone closer to perfection is if the buttons were placed where you'd normally find them, and where they're easier to reach. Read full review |
TechSpot | Tim Schiesser At the end of the day, the LG G2 is serious competition to other high-end smartphones on the market, and its wide array of features make it a fine choice for nearly anyone's needs. Read full review |
Mobile Syrup | Daniel Bader The G2 is a really good device pockmarked by a few poor design choices. From the vivid screen to the ultra-fast processor to the sharp camera and outstanding battery life, the device is a powerhouse and a spec-hunter's dream phone. With a case and some patience, this could be one of the year's best Android devices. Read full review |
pocketnow | Michael Fisher The G2 is not trying to be on the same playing field as the HTC One, Moto X, and Galaxy S 4. It's trying to straddle the gap between a smartphone and a phablet, offering the features of the latter at the price point of the former â and frankly, it's not doing it terribly well. Read full review |
NotebookCheck | Daniel Schuster All that said: The difference between the 5.2-inch G2 and the smaller model is big -- very big. Were it not for the hardware buttons on the backside of the device, the G2 Mini could easily be confused with the LG L90. Read full review |
Android Authority | Kristofer Wouk With incredibly speedy performance, a stellar and jaw dropping 1080p display, an extremely thin bezel, fantastic imaging capabilities, and road-warrior worthy battery life, it looks like LG has created one of the best smartphones, ever. Read full review |

What Hi-Fi? Newer rivals may better its specs and performance now, but that doesn't make the G2 a has-been. LG's flagship phone remains a worthy contender. Read full review |
MSN Tech | Paul Lamkin The best LG smartphone ever? You betcha. Better than HTC and Samsung's top guns? Not quite - but the G2 definitely hits the upper echelons of the Android hierarchy. Read full review |
Coolsmartphone | James Pearce The LG G2 is a great phone, with a bit of fiddling it's an amazing phone, with a bit of hacking it would be an astounding phone. It's just the normal person buying one of these won't probably be able to even turn off some of the unnecessary features. Read full review |
T3 | Thomas Tamblyn ...there just aren't really any aspects of it that would make you actively choose the G2 over say the Galaxy S4 or the HTC One. Read full review |
Know Your Mobile | Richard Goodwin LG's most appealing phone yet, the G2 marries cutting-edge tech with a gorgeous screen. It's just a shame that it lacks a MicroSD card slot. Read full review |
CNET UK | Damien McFerran One of the most powerful Android phones on the market right now, the LG G2 may not have the looks of its rivals -- its button placement could annoy some users -- but it has a fantastic display, superb battery life and a lightning-fast processor. Read full review |
The Verge | Dan Seifert If all you care about are specs, the G2 has them in spades, but it doesn't have the best user experience. Read full review |
What Mobile | Jamie Feltham The G2 has a lot of things going for it. It's a powerhouse phone with excellent performance that also features a great screen, impressive battery life and a good camera. But LG has some way to go if it wants to catch up with Samsung and the G2 won't do the job. Read full review |

Brighthand | Dragan Petric With a 4.7-inch display, the LG G2 mini isn't exactly diminutive, but it provides an respectable midrange package regardless. Read full review |
