Samsung's Galaxy Note series has so far been the undisputed king of the large phone 'phablet' market. Even though the iPhone 6 Plus has emerged a serious rival, the Note 4 has held its own against the competition from Apple. Much like its predecessors were when they were released, the hardware specs are amongst the best, including a 5.7 inch screen with 2560x1440 resolution, high end processor and plenty of memory. But what sets the Note 4 apart is the new S-Pen, a stylus that enhances the functionality of the device and allows users to write, sketch and draw write on the phablet's screen. The S-Pen comes with a new software feature called Smart Select which allows you to copy content from websites using the stylus and store it online to view or read later. The S-Pen can also be used like a mouse to drag and select text or pictures in a gallery. The Snap Mode allows user to take a snapshot of something with text on it and then access it as a note. This combination of top-end hardware and innovative features won the unanimous approval of critics, and is why the Galaxy Note 4 is HandsetExpert's highest rated phone of 2014.

Mobile Choice This is the best phablet ever made (...). phoneArena | Ray S Samsung has one helluva powerful smartphone with the Galaxy Note 4, that's for sure. Gadgets Now | Ravi Sharma ...a powerful, powerful phablet that does not falter on any count. Sure, there is room for the software and hardware to work a bit more smoothly, but most users would find that the features are more than sufficient for their requirements. BGR | Zach Epstein The Note 4 was designed to be as usable as possible for a device with such a large display, with great weight distribution and a thin housing. The phone also has the best display in the business without compromising battery life. On top of everything else, the Note 4 touts a sleek design, solid construction and a somewhat premium feel. These are not things you can say about most Samsung phones. Read full review |

The Next Web | Nett Garun Subtle but powerful upgrades on Android's larger-than-life phone. Although it may not look like a big leap from its previous model, Samsung has done a good thing by concentrating on higher build quality and specs rather than adding gimmicky features. Read full review |
Digital Spy | Hunter Skipworth The Note 4 is my favourite phone on the market right now: it feels genuinely different to everything else. It has nothing to do with branding, design or anything else, Samsung simply did good. Read full review |
pocketnow | Michael Fisher Like any mobile product, the Note 4 is not without compromises: it trades battery life for a class-leading display, and adds burdensome complexity in the quest for more features. It's a product for people looking to blur the line between phone, tablet, and desktop. Read full review |
Wired UK | Dave Oliver The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a terrific screen and impressively powerful processor, plus a huge range of useful and clever features. What Mobile Samsung invented the phablet three years ago, and no company has managed to snatch the crown away since. The solid battery life, built-in stylus and split-screen app make this a stand-out device, but the latest crop of larger flagship phones should give you plenty to think about when it comes to picking your next phone. Read full review |
YourTechExplained | Ben Schoon Like any other phone on the market, the Note 4 is not without compromise, if fact it makes quite a few of them. In the end though, I really do think that the Note 4 is the best phone Samsung has ever made, yet. Read full review |
The Verge | David Pierce It's an excellent phone inside and out, the first Note that combines design, power, and performance in one package. Samsung knows how to take advantage of a large screen - even more so than Apple - and with a pen and some software tweaks and a ridiculous number of pixels, it does just that. Note still stands for productivity, and Samsung still sets the standard: you can do so much with this 5.7-inch device. Read full review |
